About the town
Palisades Park sits atop the New Jersey Palisades in eastern Bergen County, one of the state's most densely populated boroughs. Its Broad Avenue corridor has grown into one of the most concentrated Korean business districts in the United States.
Palisades Park is part of New Jersey’s Gold Coast, along the Hudson.
Our history
1899
Palisades Park was incorporated on March 22, 1899 by act of the New Jersey Legislature, carved from portions of Ridgefield Township and named for its perch atop the New Jersey Palisades.
1909
A portion of the borough's original territory was annexed by neighboring Fort Lee in 1909, helping set the compact footprint the town holds today.
1990s–today
Beginning in the 1990s, a steady wave of Korean immigrants settled in Palisades Park, transforming Broad Avenue into a nationally known commercial and cultural hub and reshaping the borough's civic life.
Signature landmark
Broad Avenue is the commercial heart of the borough and the epicenter of Korean American life in New Jersey, lined for more than a dozen blocks with restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and markets. It has earned nicknames including "Koreatown on the Hudson," drawing visitors from across the region.

A dense, walkable strip of Korean restaurants, bakeries, karaoke lounges, and markets — one of the largest Korean commercial districts in the New York metropolitan area.
The borough offers a Korean-language version of its municipal website, and daily life along Broad Avenue reflects a community where English and Korean are spoken side by side.
Frequent bus service connects the borough directly to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, while the nearby George Washington Bridge links Palisades Park to Manhattan in minutes.
